Clinical Experience
Founder, Owner

Angelica Grimes is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of New Jersey. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and completed her Master's of Science work in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling through Monmouth University. Angelica has years of experience in intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization care, and private settings. Although she covers a wide range of mental health issues, she has extensive practice, and furthers her continuing education specializing in OCD, anxiety, and intrusive thoughts. Angelica views the counseling process as holistic in not only treating symptoms, but also looking beyond that in processing where they may stem from and tailoring treatment to the client's specific needs. In conjunction with mindfulness and grounding techniques, she utilizes evidence-based practices, including ICBT, ERP, and ACT, to help clients succeed in getting past their fears, reaching their goals, and developing a working set of coping skills to use throughout their life journey. She views the therapeutic process as a collaborative effort.
Additional Areas Of Focus

Life Transitions
Life transitions—such as graduating, beginning or leaving a career, entering a committed relationship, starting a family, or making other major life decisions—often bring a mix of excitement, uncertainty, and stress. These periods of change can activate fears, self-doubt, and “what if” thinking that may interfere with clarity, confidence, and forward movement. From a therapeutic perspective, how individuals interpret these experiences and relate to their thoughts, emotions, and beliefs plays a significant role in decision-making and overall well-being. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy to examine core beliefs, clarify personal values, and process past experiences in order to support clients in navigating life transitions, increasing self-awareness, and moving toward goals with greater intention and resilience.

Relationship Issues
Therapeutic work with identifying client specific relationship needs and the ability to communicate these areas effectively. Individually focusing on improved communication, mutual understanding, and shared responsibility, treatment then supports partners in identifying patterns, clarifying needs, and developing collaborative strategies that promote emotional safety, teamwork, and healthy intimacy.

Self-concept and Life Stressors
Self-concept and daily dynamics play a central role in motivation, drive, and goal-directed behavior. Difficulties in these areas may contribute to low motivation, diminished self-efficacy, and challenges with follow-through. Therapeutic work focuses on strengthening identity coherence, clarifying values, and fostering internal motivation to support meaningful and sustained change.
